Gypsy Moths

All moths have characters of their own, even the tiniest of micros – well, that may be pushing it a bit, but you know what I mean. It’s probably true to say though that some species are slightly more charismatic than others. I think male Gypsy Moths are pretty characterful, even though they are destructive pests! It’s a moth that is immediately identifiable whether flying around in its typically erratic manner or settled, which seems be be only at lights. Anyway, here’s one I photographed this summer in Toronto…
